Rhinos are ancient animals, having stomped around for about 50 million years, which means they’ve been perfecting the “grumpy but majestic” look since long before humans showed up. Despite their size—some weigh over two tonnes—they’re surprisingly speedy, able to run as fast as 50 km/h. Think of them as nature’s way of proving that heavy doesn’t mean slow.
Their iconic horns aren’t for decoration—they’re used for defense, digging, and the occasional rhino showdown. Sadly, those very horns have also made them a target for poaching, pushing several rhino species to the brink of extinction.
