Warning as Tick Season Has Already Begun

⚠️ Paralysis Tick Season Has Started Early in NSW

Emergency hospitals are already reporting cases of tick paralysis earlier than usual this year. Paralysis ticks are extremely dangerous and can be fatal to both dogs and cats.

Symptoms to watch for include:
🐾 Dogs – weakness or wobbliness in the back legs, vomiting/retching, change in bark, difficulty breathing.
🐾 Cats – loss of coordination, trouble breathing, change in voice, vomiting, or difficulty swallowing.

Prevention is essential:
✔️ Keep pets up to date with veterinarian-recommended tick preventatives.
✔️ Check your pet daily for ticks, particularly around the head, neck, ears and under the collar.
✔️ Keep coats trimmed and groomed for easier checks.

If you notice any of these signs or find a tick, contact your veterinarian immediately. Early treatment can save lives.
