🌳 International Gibbon Day – Swinging into Action for the Forest’s Acrobats! 🐒

Today is International Gibbon Day, and it’s time to celebrate the smallest — and perhaps most graceful — of the great apes: the gibbon! Known for their incredible agility, gibbons spend their lives high in the treetops, brachiating (that’s swinging hand-over-hand) through the forest at speeds that would put any gymnast to shame.

Their hauntingly beautiful songs echo through the jungles of Southeast Asia each morning, helping pairs mark their territory and strengthen lifelong bonds. But behind those enchanting duets lies a serious story — gibbons are among the most endangered primates on Earth. Habitat destruction, hunting, and the illegal pet trade are pushing many species to the brink.
